Novel Excerpt #5

“I love you Celia.” He said again, shaking me gently, trying to snap me out of my trance I think.

“No.” I whispered. He couldn’t. He’d been married before, he has a daughter, if he loved me, wouldn’t he have told me sooner?

“Celia?” He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close when he realized I was crying, “Don’t cry. I’m sorry, but I needed you to know, I’ve been trying to figure out how to tell you all summer.”

“I’m going home tomorrow. I can’t do this Kyle. I’m going home tomorrow. Don’t do this to me.” I buried my face in his shoulder.

“Celia, look at me please.”

And that was the worst mistake I’d made all summer. Why? Because he kissed me.

NEW PLOT LINE!!

Okay, it's official, my plot line has taken on a life of it's own! The plot has totally and completely changed, Celia and Kyle have officially taken over the story and are now dictating it. Here is the new synopsis:

When Celia goes to stay with her grandmother in Lincolnville, ME she meets Kyle Carpenter. When she begins to let her feelings show, Kyle pulls away. Kyle has a secret, and what will Celia do when she finds out what it is?

What do you guys think??

Oi Vay...

Well, the journey of NaNoWriMo just gets more interesting. I woke up this morning suffering from severe writer's block, and not quite sure how to get over it. I did a little talking with my mom and suddenly had a somewhat clearer picture of where Celia's story was going. I think...it sounds promising right now, so we'll see where it takes us. I was rather put out with my plotline for changing itself without telling me, but I think this new idea will be much better.

I do however have to go back to writing though, Celia woke up this morning to a rather bad case of poison ivy and is not real happy about it....

Excerpt #4 from "The Maine Dares"

"Celia! What happened to you?" Grandma asked in surprise, looking me up and down.

I looked down at myself and discovered that on top of my arms and legs being covered in scratches, but that some of them actually looked quite serious as well.

Excerpt #3 from "The Maine Dares"

"What are those ?" I asked Grandma, pointing at the tank. The "brown" on the bottom of the tank had started to move and taken on the shape of many large multiple long legged insect type creatures.

"They're lobsters." Grandma said looking at me strangely, "Haven't you ever seen one before?"

"No. I'm not sure I've ever even heard of lobsters before."
